What’s in Our Psilocybe Cubensis Mushroom Spore Syringes?

Great research begins with great materials. Below are some of the components, and processes, that
make up our spore syringes.

  • 1

    High Quality Spores

Each of our strains is selected from an isolated genetics to give you the best possible genetics.

  • 3

    Tested for Viability

Studying dead spores is no fun which is why we’re constantly pulling syringes to test them for viability, as well as possible contaminants.

  • 2

    Deionized Type 2 Water

This acts as a reagent for the spores and helps to prevent unwanted contaminants from making a home in the syringe.

  • 4

    Labeled for Identification

Each syringe is clearly labeled with the strain’s genetic identity, ensuring precise identification for research and educational purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Confused? Not to worry! Below are some of the most commonly asked questions we receive. For a more complete list of questions, click on the button below.

What are mushroom spores?

Mushroom spores are the equivalent of seeds in the fungus world. Just like plants have seeds, the mushroom species reproduce and spread through their spores. They are small, tiny reproductive units capable of giving rise to a new fungal growth, under the right conditions. Due to their size, they are invisible to the human eye, therefore if you would like to collect them you would need specialized tools and techniques. The spore print technique is one of the most popular ways to collect spores directly from the gills or pores of the mushroom cap. Even though widely used, this technique carries a higher risk of contamination. Another way to make sure you get the highest-quality spores is to buy them from a reputable source such as FungusHead.

Are magic mushroom spores legal?

Yes. Psilocybin containing mushroom spores do not have any of the active compounds (psilocybin or psilocin) that are found in the fruiting bodies of some mushrooms. Therefore, they are legal to possess and study within most of the United States. Please check your local laws and regulations before purchasing.

Do your spores contain psilocybin or psilocin?

No. Psilocybin and psilocin are active compounds that are found within the fruiting bodies of certain species of 'magic' mushrooms. Since we are only offering the spores, none of our products do not contain these compounds. Our spores are for microscopy purposes only and are not intended for cultivation or consumption. They do not contain psilocybin or psilocin.

What kinds of delivery options do you offer?

We currently ship to the USA. Your order will arrive directly to your mailbox, or any other address you choose (excluding those within the states of ID & GA). Once the courier confirms your order is on its way to you, you will receive an email including a link to track your order. The standard shipping fee is $9.99, and we offer FREE shipping on orders over $49.

How do I find my tracking number?

You will receive an email within 2-3 business days from time of payment confirmation that contains a USPS tracking number. Please check your spam folder. If you do not see this email or have deleted it, you can contact us at [email protected] to request a new one. Please make sure to include your name and order number in your email asking us to resend your tracking info.

How long does it take to ship?

All orders are shipped within one business day from time of payment confirmation. After your order is shipped, it usually takes 3-5 business days for your package to arrive.  We want you to be able to enjoy your spores as soon as possible. Although we always work hard to ensure that you will be able to receive your parcel within the time frame mentioned, please note that we are human and sometimes this time period will be longer. The standard shipping fee is $9.99, and we offer FREE shipping for orders over $49.

Do you ship to ID or GA?

We are not able to ship to ID or GA at this time. These two states have explicit laws against the possession, or sale, of magic mushroom spores despite the fact that we only offer these products for microscopy research purposes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

What is microscopy?

Microscopy, simply put, is the magnified observation of a very small object. This is achieved through the use of a microscope and can be used to view cells, bacteria, or spores such as magic mushroom spores.

Where can I buy mushroom spores?

You can buy mushroom spores right here at FungusHead. If you are a beginner, take a look at our psilocybe spore syringes. Spore syringes contain mushroom spores suspended in a sterile liquid solution, typically distilled water. Spore syringes are easy to handle, distribute spores evenly, and are suitable for starting new mushroom cultures.  We offer a wide variety of mushroom strains and species, such as Golden teacher, B+ Cubensis, Blue Meanie, and Jedi Mind Fuck. If you are looking into mushroom spores for identification purposes, we have spore swabs. Spore swabs consist of sterile cotton swabs that have been rubbed on a mature mushroom cap to collect spores. Our swabs are then sealed in a sterile container, and you can use them to create spore prints, and identify mushroom species. Finally, if you are an advanced researcher, check out our latest product – liquid culture. Liquid culture is a more advanced technique that accelerates mycelium growth but requires more experience, equipment, and care to avoid contamination.
