Are Psilocybe cubensis strains really that different from one another?
Posted on August 14th, 2023
Yes, and no. Though strains within the same species have an almost identical physical appearance when it comes to their spores, there are subtle nuances that make them each unique. Another obvious example is derived from the fruits themselves, which have a large amount of variance in terms of their physical appearance.
It is the same concept as any other organism of the same species. Think of humans, we each appear the same from the perspective of a sperm cell, but once we’ve fully formed we begin to take on unique physical and chemical characteristics.
Why do some products cost more than others?
Posted on August 14th, 2023
The price of our products is based mainly on cost to produce, the market, and our additional value incentives (free education, customer support, gifts). Some species of mushrooms are nearly impossible to collect spores from and so for these we either have them priced higher, or they are only available in certain forms.
How do I choose my strain?
Posted on August 14th, 2023
If you’re not sure which strain to choose, here are some things to consider:
- Study Complexity: Different strains may have different concentrations of psilocybin or psilocin, influencing their complexity in research settings.
- Research Yield: Researchers may examine strains that demonstrate significant observable characteristics during certain stages of their life cycle, aiding in a comprehensive study.
- Beginner-friendly: For newcomers to mycological research, a strain that is more straightforward to study and has a lower risk of contamination can be advantageous. This allows for a clearer focus on learning the fundamentals of mycological studies without the added complexity of managing contamination risks.
