The Malabar Mushroom Spore Syringe microscopy kit contains:

  • 10ml of high-quality Malabar mushroom spores packed into a laboratory-grade syringe
  • 1x alcohol swab
  • 1x sterile needle for research purposes

We handpick each strain from genetically isolated sources to give you the best genetics for your scientific research. Our syringes contain purified water, creating a protective barrier against potential contaminants. Regular testing is conducted on the spores. Each syringe is labeled with the strain’s name and includes a visual reference of the strain at the fruiting stage for easy identification.

Malabar Mushroom Spores

The Malabar mushroom, originating from India’s Malabar Coast, is a less common variant of the Psilocybe cubensis species. In nature, the Malabar mushroom has thick, dense fruits spread across the mountains and hills of India’s southwest coats. An interesting legend surrounds this mushroom – the first was found in elephant dung.

  • Genus: Psilocybe
  • Species: P. Cubensis
  • Strain: Malabar
  • Spore Color: Purple to black
  • Strain Origin: India

The stipe isn’t different from the other cubensis species, thicker and meaty towards the base, and it bruises bluish when injured, like all cubensis species.
Beyond its biological aspects, the Malabar Coast Mushroom is also significant in cultural and anthropological studies.

Our Malabar spores are intended solely for microscopy and taxonomy purposes. Please note that sales will be declined to California, Idaho, & Georgia due to legal restrictions. Please check with your local laws and regulations before ordering.

Under the Microscope

The color of Malabar coast spores varies from dark purple to black; they are sub-ellipsoid and measure 6-8 x 4-6 µm. Under the microspore, they have a smooth surface texture and are randomly dispersed without a pattern. The spores are usually densely packed, so it is difficult to individually observe them under the microscope.

To properly do research with our kit, prepare a microscope slide from a spore swab, sterilize the slide, and cover the slip with rubbing alcohol. Gently rub the swab onto the slide to transfer the spores. Add a small drop of water to the slide cover with the coverslip and gently press down to spread the spores out.
Now you can view the spores under the microscope and see for yourself the characteristics we named below.

Property Description
Color Purple to black
Shape Sub-elipsiod
Size 6-8 x 4-6 µm
Surface texture Smooth
Arrangement Randomly dispersed
Density Densely packed

Strain Review

The Malabar strain, distinguished by its abundant fruiting bodies and quick growth cycle, is highly valued in mycological research. With moderate psilocybin levels, it presents an interesting subject for scientific study on the compound’s properties. The strain’s physical features, such as beautifully spotted caps and thin, lengthy veils, make it an excellent specimen for beginners in mycological studies, particularly in understanding its cultural and anthropological history.
